Bible Month 2025
God’s Word: Our Source of Hope
The Bible is more than a book—it is a source of hope, guidance, and renewal for individuals and nations alike. It speaks into every situation of life, even the challenges we face as a nation in this post-election season.
The Bible is the Word of God and a love letter from Him to His people. This is why, every October, we set aside time to celebrate Bible Month—a moment to honor the gift of God’s Word and its power to transform lives.
This year’s theme is:
“God’s Word: Our Source of Hope”
“Mau a Mulungu Ndiwo Gwero la Chiyembekezo Chathu”
Inspired by Romans 15:13: “May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in Him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
As the Bible Society of Malawi, our mission is to make the Scriptures available in every language, format, and version so that no one is left without access to God’s Word. We serve as the arm of the Church in this calling—translating, publishing, distributing, and encouraging engagement with the Bible.
To mark this special month, all Bibles at our Bible Shops are available at a 10% discount—an opportunity to own a copy or share one with someone in need.
How You Can Celebrate Bible Month
- Read the Bible three times daily—morning, noon, and evening.
- Dedicate time for Bible verse recitals as a family and as a church.
- Buy a new Bible for yourself and gift one to someone who cannot afford it.
- Donate toward Bible work in Malawi.
- Organize church services centered on the importance of God’s Word.
- Pray for Bible work in Malawi and around the world.
- Organize Bible Marches and Rallies in your community.
- Hold Bible Studies that reflect on the value and teachings of Scripture.
As Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 3:16–17: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.”
At the end of this Bible Month, may we echo the words of the Psalmist: “Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11)
As Malawi celebrates Bible Month, may this joy and commitment to God’s Word inspire all of us across the world to treasure the Scriptures and live by their truth.
A Happy Bible Month to all!
